For the last few years i've been asking myself what is the point in life. Or more specifically, modern life. And the more i think about it, the more it makes sense. I have to abandon the 21st century lifestyle and get back to how man was supposed to live. We weren't made for sitting at desks, working 12 hours per day or spawning less inspired offspring. Since every generation seems to get worse, in terms of morals etc, i consider them just another step further from humanity.
I read somewhere last week, that a true measure of a mans wealth is how he reacts to losing all his money, or something along those lines anyway. And i couldn't agree more. I'm really failing to see the point in any 'normal' life. Do people in this age get wiser as they get older? Or have they just accumulated more stuff they don't need? I have very little responsibility, and i can easily go on an adventure. Live in the wilderness, fend for myself. There has to be more satisfaction in that lifestyle, right? Being closer to nature, and being in complete control of your life. Very little stress compared to sitting in a cubicle 12 hours a day and coming home to a bitchy family.
Why do people strive for that seemingly unhappy existence? I really don't understand it. Everybody i've seen who is married all pretty much end up miserable and full of regret. I think it's because their freedom has been taken away, and they slowly realize it. Yet, i'm on the other end. I got as much freedom as i want, but it's scary. I'm not the adventurous type, well not physically anyway. But freedom is scary and i'm not sure if i'd have the balls to go through with such a lifestyle change. The solitude would be easy, since i'm a loner anyway, but self-confidence is lacking.
