I'm enjoying a nice hot cup of white tea. *cough cough* Being sick from toxic mold is lame. I hope I don't die surreal

At 180 degrees Fahrenheit, (82 degress Celsius) it take ONE SECOND to get third degree burns, 15 seconds at 133 degrees F (56 C), but five minutes at 120 F (49 C). This is very important to know when you are setting your water heater thermostat at home, especially if there are children at home. Never set it hotter than 120 F or 49 C.

One second is a pretty damn long time in terms of getting it on your hands. Non conscious reflexes would probably make you pull it out in less than half that time. And if you’re at the faucet anyway, you can run cold water on it, which, of course, decreases the severity of the burns.

Yeah, but when your little kid decides to take a shower like an adult and jumps in without testing...

...You question the rationality of having this device in the SHOWER. tongue

Unless for some reason you need to keep a medieval torture chamber handy.

If only there were a device also located in the kitchen that could serve as some sort of water re-boiler. Ya know, maybe something cube shaped, but it gets hot on top and you could heat stuff on it. Well it wouldn't be a solid cube, that would be wasteful. If it got hot you should be able to put stuff in there that you want to make hot too. Man that would be so awesome to have one of those. I'd call it a Heat Cube! Science, make it happen!
