I got majorly picked on in elementary school and through most of high school- kids made fun of me because I wore glasses, I was funny-looking, and I was the all-essential school nerd. I had rocks thrown at me on more than one occasion and didn't really start making a lot of friends until I was about fifteen. I was called ugly, stupid, fat (which I wasn't, it was just puppyfat, but kids are cruel), and useless on a regular basis.
I went back to Prince George for a visit and ran into a couple of guys who had made my life miserable for so many years. They told me "wow! You look different! We should go for coffee!" By which they now meant they found me attractive enough for more than the time of day.
I took more pleasure than I probably should have in telling them to go fuck themselves.
I see my trying for SG as raising a big, fat middle finger to everybody who ever made fun of me.
So, people from my elementary school.....FUCK YOU ALL, I did it!

Can I find my love on SG too? I love stories like this. It's so precious. Congrats on having such a great experience and I hope to make some deep roots here too. I'm certainly working on it.
