It's really no different from any of the other cable stations
Name a niche cable channel that isn't a shadow of its former self. Comedy Central, maybe. As we speak, A&E (used to mean Arts & Entertainment) is showing CSI: Miami, Bravo (Fine arts) is showing The Millionaire Matchmaker, MTV's showing Making the Band FOUR (though I suppose that is at least MUSIC-RELATED!), TLC (The Learning Channel) is showing Jon & Kate Plus 8, and VH1 is showing For the Love of Ray J. For god's sake, Nick at Nite shows 3rd Rock, which has been off the air only eight years.
It's just following the trend of most niche cable channels. Blame the internet?
