Well, the first horror film I ever watched was the original Day of the Dead. I think I was hooked from then on really.

As for the trend, what other awesome, monster horror films have been released recently? Masked murderers got predictable a long time ago and vampires have been hijacked by love struck thirteen year old girls. Werewolves haven't been cool since Dog Soldiers. However, there have been some blinding zombie films out in recent years.

Don't worry though, they will quickly be replaced by something else soon enough. With the Wolfman remake in the pipeline maybe this time next year we will be discussing the new wave of werewolf fans and whatever happened to the zombies?
